Carbon Insight EDEN Portal

Carbon Insight EDEN Portal is a hosted CEMS application that helps organisations to capture and report on carbon emissions data. It allows access to data from multiple suppliers, analyse trends and forecast emissions, establish and track plans for the reduction of emissions, and meet legislative reporting obligations. The Carbon Insight product suite includes the Environmental Data Exchange Network (EDEN) Portal, an automated supplier data management tool that streamlines the loading of electronic data from supplier sources. Additional configuration options also exist including email and workflow notifications to a system user when invalid or suspect data is encountered.

Based in Brisbane, Australia, the company has reseller agreements within Australia and Asia Pacific. The software offers compliance to NGERS and OSCAR, and also offers ISO 14001, ISO 14064 standards compliance.

The software is a web-based application and can be deployed in-house on client hardware or made available as a SaaS application hosted by Carbon Insight. The program requires a standard web browser with the Adobe Flash Player 9 plug-in installed. It has been written in a Java and FLEX, and is available only in English. The SaaS version is licensed on an annual basis per user. The in-house version is licensed as a perpetual license and is payable in a once-off up-front fee (priced per CPU) with subsequent annual support fees payable each year thereafter. Standard support is available 7.30am – 5.30pm (Australian EST). The EDEN Portal can be integrated with any existing GHG Inventory including ERPs such as SAPxEM or JDE Ndevr.

Carbon Insight provides a forecasting and “What If” analysis functionality which allows future emission levels to be extrapolated and analysed to investigate the best methods of reducing emissions using action plans. It also includes a spatial mapping functionality where emissions are represented in a heat map using geospatial techniques to highlight emitting locations.
