Carbonetworks

Carbonetworks is a web-based CEMS software platform designed to help prepare organisations for participation in global carbon trading markets. Its emissions management platform allows companies to manage their emissions along with financial assets or liabilities and connects them to a global network to help actively manage carbon reductions. Carbonetworks also provides consulting services to train organisation’s staff. They provide information and services on implementing best practices for emissions trading and to manage GHG related processes more efficiently.

Carbonnetworks focuses in helping private and public sector organisations prepare for entry into emerging global carbon trading markets. The original solution was launched to specifically to aid UK companies facing the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) legislation expected in April 2010. The company’s products however are used by subscribers in more than 30 countries.

The software offers compliance to CRC for the Carbon Disclosure Project and the Greenhouse Gas Registry Act (H.R. 232).

The software is delivered as a web-based SaaS application and is hosted by carbonetworks. The program runs on Windows and is written in a Java.

Carbonetworks has as an automated Carbon Disclosure Project reporting module and an intelligent analysis engine to assess GHG projects. It consolidates organisations’ carbon inventories and then evaluates possible alternatives on a financial basis (e.g., carbon trading, offsets, or investments). This helps organisations determine the best course of action for their business.
