EASE

Emissions Accounting Software (EASE) is a standalone CEMS product that assists organisations to accurately calculate their carbon emissions directly from their accounting system. EASE comes in three different versions: EASE lite, EASE plus, and EASE premium, designed for very small businesses to companies requiring multi-user multi-site measurement capabilities.

Equilibrium OMG has developed the EASE tool to enable organisations to accurately account for greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the double entry of information. Equilibrium OMG also offers climate change and carbon management services which includes strategic planning and advice, training, and compliance and management consulting. The company operates throughout Australia.

According to Equilibrium OMG, EASE minimises the double entry of information. This in turn helps minimise data errors and reduce auditing costs.

The software is compliant with the NGER, EEO Acts, and ISO-14064-1 standard. The calculations used for the product have been developed using emission factors prepared by the Australian Government, Department of Climate Change and the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). The methodologies behind the calculations are based on Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions outlined in the GHG Protocol.

The software is delivered as a standalone desktop application configured to the organisations financial accounting system and installed by Equilibrium OMG. It runs on Windows and is supported by a Microsoft Access database. It has been written in .Net and can be licensed either as a monthly or annual subscription. It is available only in English and is updated on an annual basis or as required (i.e. in line with changes in calculation methodologies and emissions factors).

EASE is priced between$500 and $10,000 as a standalone software package (i.e. not web based) for internally hosting by the organisation.
