Hara Environmental & Energy Management Solution (Hara EEM)

Hara Environmental & Energy Managemen is a hosted CEMS application that helps organisations monitor and manage resource consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and the return expected from investing in environmental initiatives. It provides a view and control of an organisation’s ‘organisational metabolism’ (i.e. resources consumed and expended including energy, fossil fuels, water, waste, carbon and other natural resources). It also allows organisations to evaluate the impact of resource consumption across various departments, facilities and operations and assesses the savings potential of energy and emission reduction initiatives across the product lifecycle.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) is the venture capital investor for Hara Software, which developed and released Hara for the carbon emissions management market in January 2009. The first version was released in early 2009, and the current version was released in late August 2009.

The software offers GRI, CDP and CCAR compliance and is ISO 14001 and ISO 14064 compliant.

The software is delivered as a SaaS application and is hosted by Hara Software and runs on any platform and database server. It is licensed on a subscription basis.

Hara software allows users to share energy, carbon, water and waste abatement best practices and benchmark across stakeholders with a "best practices” module. It also offers an “ACT” module that helps companies plan, evaluate, and execute strategies.
