Wipro Carbon Management Solution

Wipro Carbon Management Solution (v1.0) is a web-based CEMS product that helps organisations to measure, manage, monitor, model and monetise their carbon footprint. It can also help manage waste and water use. Wipro also offers carbon voluntary disclosure report generation, business and process consulting, value added services and utility bills management services.

Wipro focuses on providing IT solutions and services, and product engineering and support service providers worldwide. It is a Level 5 Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and Level 5 Capability Maturity Model (CMM) certified IT services organisation that has a physical presence in India, UK, USA, Australia, and Japan.

The software offers compliance to CDP voluntary disclosure, and is looking to ensure compliance to UK carbon reduction commitments, National Greenhouse and energy reporting (NGERS), and EPA voluntary disclosure. It offers compliance to the GHG corporate carbon accounting standard.

The software is delivered as a web-based SaaS application and is hosted by Wipro’s partner, Salesforce.com. The program runs on Cloud OS and a Cloud database server. It is written in a combination of Force.com platform as a service (PaaS) - APEX, Visual source page and Salesforce object query language (SOQL) and is licensed on a facility based pricing (on an annual or monthly subscription). Standard support is provided however additional 24/7 support is available at an additional cost. Product releases occur bi-monthly. It is able to integrate with most enterprise back end systems and methodologies such as application programming interfaces (API) and web service oriented systems.

Wipro Carbon Management Solution is a cloud based solution and this aims to ensure that there is a lower carbon footprint. Their product currently supports office-based enterprises but other sectors will be covered as part of their product roadmap.
